I just got a new pc and it's wonderful! My only problem was that when I moved last year, I somehow managed to misplace half my expansion packs and lost the security codes to two eps.
Thank goodness I was able to find the original game complete with code, but I was missing Night Life, Open for Business, University and Pets and I've lost the security code for Bon Voyage. Fortunately, I managed to find used copies of Nightlife and Open for business and my co-worker loaned me her copies of University and Pets to load in, but I still am missing Bon Voyage because of the code. I can contact EA games and pay for a new code, or I can try to find another used copy through Amazon. I may just get another game because all of my games are registered under an e-mail address that is no longer usable and I forgot my password so trying to retrieve the info is going to be a pain. *sigh*
At least I have had no problems with Vista and I was easily able to transfer all my custom content from my external hard drive. (what would Sims 2 be without the hacked painting and anatomically correct male Sims?) The neighborhood that I've been working on for the past year or more was also saved, but without Bon Voyage, there are going to be some serious things missing so I've started a new neighborhood and that's kinda fun but I must get BV soon!
I have also learned my lesson and plan on writing the codes down on the disks themselves and keeping the games organized and together!
And yes, I admit that the main reason I got a new pc was because the game. It's so pretty now and everything runs so much smoother and faster! Yay!
