I'm thinking of buying a new computer when I get my tax refund this year. The only problem is that they all come with Vista now, and I don't know if the Sims are compatible with it. Does anyone have it yet, and do your Sims (1 and 2) work with it?

Mon, February 18, 2008 - 2:43 PMI got my new computer over the weekend (and what a truly awesome one it is) and I'm happy to report that I've had no problems with my Sims and Vista. Hooray! Now I can get them off my laptop and get back to truly playing them. They took up so much of my memory on the laptop that trying to play was near impossible. I even got the new Bon Voyage EP.
BTW, Steve, I considered your tip about the Mac, but they were more expensive than I could afford to spend right now. Maybe next time. -

Had to get a new camera this year and use the rest of my tax return to catch up on my bills and put a hefty hunk towards reducing my overall debt. That's where Bush's payola is going too.
Enjoy your new pc! Oh, one suggestion, now that you have Bon Voyage, I do not recommend having any of your Sims learn the Sea Chanty. Yeah, it's really cute to begin with, but Sims just seem to love it so much that they teach it to everyone they know and everyone loves it so much that it just becomes too much and then you just want to scream everytime you hear it. They REALLY love Tai Chi, too. -

I got a Dell Inspiron. That thing is fully loaded, as it were. 2 GB memory, 500 GB hard drive, 22" widescreen flat panel monitor. I think it will probably wear out before I ever use up all the space on the hard drive. Honestly, it wasn't the one I wanted, I actually wanted something a little smaller (and cheaper) but the one I had my eye on was out of stock, and I'd already given my old one to my kids. I like it, though that monitor is taking some getting used to. I have to sit further back from my desk now.
Unfortunately, between all the time it took to reload all my programs, sort out my wireless network, and working in general, I haven't had time to play the sims. But I plan to make up for that this weekend! -

I'm getting there, though. Even if it does mean even less time for everything else. -
